List of Nigeria's Best Artistes Currently Making Waves

Here's a list of our top ten Nigerian artistes at present. We did our analysis based on songs released, performances at events, shows, concerts, album releases, and international tours, their award nominations and wins.

1- Olamide

Well, it is Badoo himself, arguabl Nigeria's most consistent rapper of all times. Many have agreed he’s changed from rap to singing but the new album he released last November said otherwise.

Olamide made a song “BOBO” which was and is still one of the most popular songs in the country till date with its stylish dance steps which by now is still trending across the country. He was one of the most featured artiste last year, He went on tours, released an album last year which is now his 5th studio album making him the first and only artiste in Nigeria with 5 albums in 5 years, his Olic2 concert in December and was totally sold out. He is also one of the most controversial artistes in Nigeria in Nigeria.

So judging with Olamide’s performance last year and this year he’s been named the no.1 and the best musician in Nigeria.

2- Wizkid

       

WizKid,is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter and performer. He started his musical career at age 11, releasing a collaborative album with Glorious Five entitled Lil Prinz (2001). In 2009, he signed a record deal with Banky W.’s imprint Empire Mates Entertainment.
His work and contribution to the Nigerian Music Industry has earned him several achievements, including a BET Award, a MOBO Award, three Headies Awards, two Channel O Music Video Awards, four Nigeria Entertainment Awards, a Ghana Music Award, two Dynamix All Youth Awards, two City People Entertainment Awards, and a Future Award. In addition, he has been nominated three times at the MTV Europe Music Awards as well as four times at the World Music Awards. He was ranked 5th on Forbes and Channel O’s 2013 list of the Top 10 Richest/Bankable African Artists. In February 2014, Wizkid became the first ever Nigerian musician to have over 1 million followers on Twitter.
He has performed in several different cities, including Houston, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Providence, Calgary, Atlanta, Washington DC, and Chicago. Wizkid toured London in 2012 and performed at the HMV Apollo on 4 June 2012.He also performed at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Live 02 Academy in Brixton alongside Trey Songz, Tulisa, Kendrick Lamar and Angel.
He is a proud father of two kids from two baby mamas.
He’s had various collaborations with foreign artists.
He’s was rated among top ten most famous people in Nigeria in 2015.Wizkid has been concluded to be the number two artiste of this time. 

3- Davido.

       

The OBO is also one of the best artistes in Nigeria, the star singer has done really well both locally and internationally, Davido pushed his brand a lot harder, he is the first most followed musician on social media at the moment, his music video for “Fans Mi” where he featured America's Meek Mill set a record on YouTube as the fastest Nigerian video to hit 1million on YouTube. He also recently revealed that he paid $200,000 to feture Meek Mill on the fans Mi track.
Though from a very wealthy family, Davido has put in a lot of hard work to come this far.

4- Patoranking.

Patoranking is also one of the Nigeria artist of this time, since his hit single ALUBARIKA launched him to limelight, there's been no stopping him.

5- Lil Kesh.

The YBNL star, is sure loved by many music lovers in Nigeria, Lil Kesh wowed a lot of music lovers because every single hit was ehis BACK TO BACK. lol, Even though Lil Kesh is a new comer in the industry he has managed to be among the most featured artists in Nigeria right now as he has featured in many collaborations with other Nigerian artistes.

6- Kiss Daniel.

It is quite an amazing thing how an industry new comer would make it has high up to that, the young star really showed Nigerians he is not just a cute singer but a dope one as well. Kiss Daniel’s WOJU song is one of the most bought songs on iTunes and MTN's musicplus, it’s also been revealed the song is one of the most subscribed for caller tunes. After Woju, Kiss has released other songs (Laye,Molue,Good Time) and featured in a few collabos (the best being DJ Shabsy's Raba), getting best of positive reviews on his songs.

7- REEKADO BANKS.

The Mavin artiste Reekado showed Nigerians his brain is full of music after making and releasing multiple hit singles. His biggest songs last year include; Katapot, Sugar Baby, his latest single OLUWA NI has also been largely accepted by his fans. Reekado performed at many huge events, the star singer won the Next Rated artiste award at the 2015 Headies Awards. He has featured in a couple hit songs, the young star showed has shown quite some talent and has been appreciated by fans.

8- Korede bello

Korede Bello is obviously one of the most loved musicians in Nigeria right now.. Korede shot to limelight with his banging and crazy hit single GODWIN which sparked soe sort of controversy when he was invited toperform the song at a religious event. GODWIN topped many music countdowns across Nigeria for weeks, not to mention his recent release ROMANTIC featuring Tiwa Savage. Korede has performed at international shows and has also trended so well on the social media.

9- Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade by many media platforms have been rated to be the best female musician in Nigeria right now, the young lady can be definitely lauded as she has been doing a good job since day one. Yemi released her album and increased her brand locally and internationally. She’s won some huge awards last year too. The Igbo-Yoruba girl is also one of the most controversial artistes in Nigeria. Yemi Alade is the best female artist in Nigeria and Africa right now. Her forte has been her ability to mix languages in her song and that's really a plus for her as she has been able to get to more fans across the world that way.

10- YCEE

The Tinny Entertainment star,Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known by his stage name YCEE is sure loved by many music lovers in Nigeria,he drew a lot of music lovers with is hit single JAGABAN and killed it better with the remix where he fatured Olamide and Phyno. He recently released a new single titled 'Omo Alhaji' which has also received a lot of accolades from fans. Even though is also a new comer in the industry he is sure on our top ten list.
