5 fun facts you don't know about the gifted female vocalist-Simi


Simi of X3M Music adds another year officially today. Happy birthday to her. The talented vocalist started out with gospel music before switching to secular music.
Since signing to X3M Music, the artist has gone on to make a name for herself in the music industry with popular singles like ‘Tiff’’ and ‘Jamb question’ shooting her into limelight.
Here are five fun facts about the singer.
1. She started out with a gospel album titled “Ogaju” putting out a song called ‘Ara Ile’ which got a lot of buzz and good reception. The singer was in a teenage choir like many other Nigerian artistes before she turned music into a professional path.
2. Simi wrote her very first song at the age of 10, and says she knew she was going to take music as a career from that age.
3. In college, she took part in a music show during a variety night where she would go on stage often to perform and sing a couple of songs, and that ground helped her overcome stage fright. Also, she started recording her gospel album with Samklef in her final year.
4. She doesn’t have any permanent influencers. According to her, she has a fickle mind when it comes to influences, she can be into one person for month and the next month, she could move on to another person, all depending on what’s happening in  her head at the time.
5. The singer is known for taking on the cover of hit songs that she decided to put them all together in an EP titled ‘’Restless’’, in which one of her songs a cover of Drake’s Marvin’s Room caught the attention of X3M music’s CEO Steve Babaeko that later got her signed to the label.
