4 Songs that burst Mavin to the spotlight

Today, groundbreaking record label, the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, celebrates its fourth year anniversary. Supreme Mavin Dynasty (aka Mavin Records), was founded by Don Jazzy in 2012 after the bitter breakup of Mo’Hits. Within months, Tiwa Savage joined the new label and swept the airwaves in a storm with her  2013 hit single, ‘Eminado‘ featuring Don Jazzy.

Don Jazzy would go on to gain major endorsements, sign on Aluko Altims Timothy and Sunday BabyFresh Enejere, and by 2014, the zealous producer had signed on upcoming acts Di’ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello.
The team’s released songs ‘Take Banana’ and ‘Omo Ga’ and they got medium reception, but they burst to the spotlight with the border-smashing single, ‘Dorobucci’.

Through a dedicated social media team managed by Bizzle Osikoya (Bizzleo), Mavin became the top record label in the country with the highest social media following, hence why it wasn’t a surprise when Reekado Banks beat the street-wise Lil Kesh to win the 2015 Headies Next Rated award.
Mavin has since released other group songs like ‘Jantamata’, and though many fans would agree that ‘Dorobucci’ is the team’s all-time epic, they continue to churn out street anthems, like Korede Bello’s ‘God Win’, Reekado’s ‘Katapot’, Di’ja’s ‘Aww’, Dr SID’s ‘Kabiyesi’, and more.
Beyond the Nigerian awards like City People Awards, Headies, and more, ‘Dorobucci’ won the 2015 MTV Africa Music Award for Song of the Year.
Mavin has become a global brand, and it’s all thanks to Don Jazzy, the visionary, who shaped the Nigerian music industry and won the hearts of many through his many social media giveaways. He also discovered the young guitarist, Godwyn, whose single, ‘Promise‘, the Mavin boss produced, featuring Di’ja.
Did we fail to mention that folks always listen hard for Don Jazzy’s baritone in every song he produces; the rhythmic, heartwarming timbre that adds edge to each Mavin-produced song?
And so, to celebrate Mavin’s 4 years of awesomeness, we’ve collated their top four classics that will continue to dominate the airwaves whenever they are played, because really, you have to bow down for this iconic group who put their soul into making what they love most – music!
