Fifa World Rankings: Nigeria Remain Stuck on 67th

The Super Eagles of Nigeria remain unmoved on 67th on the latest Fifa world rankingsreleased Thursday, May 5. Nigeria’s senior national team was not involved in action for the month of April and retains her position having slipped five places to the 67th on the previous world ranking.

The three-time African champions also retained her 14th position on the continent trailing Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, Tunisia, Congo DR, Guinea, Congo, Cameroon, Morocco and Mali.
Algeria’s Fennec Foxes continue to be Africa’s best-ranked team on 33rd, one ranking spot ahead of reigning continental champions Cote d’Ivoire with former Africa no 1 Cape Verde now stuck on 47th on the world and fifth on the continent.
The top five, and much of the list after a month’s hiatus on the international scene, remain unchanged. Lionel Messi’s Argentina retains top spot having upstaged Belgium last month, with Copa America holders Chile third in the world, ahead of South American rivals Colombia and World Cup winners Germany.
The next Fifa world ranking will be released June 2.
