A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has just stripped embattled actress Ibinabo Fiberesima of her role as the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
This development was confirmed by the National Secretary of AGN, Femi Durojaiye, who said that her rival, Emeka Ike, would be taking over the position.
This development was confirmed by the National Secretary of AGN, Femi Durojaiye, who said that her rival, Emeka Ike, would be taking over the position.
Read the statement:
“The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, this morning 23/3/2016 at the application and argument of Counsel to Actors Guild of Nigeria, Barr. Peter Andor Oboyi, struck out Ibinabo’s and BOT suit challenging the nullification of her election to the Presidency of AGN and also challenging the legitimacy of the Presidency of Emeka Ike and his Exco. The implication of this judgement is that Engr. Emeka Ike led Exco remain the only authentic and lawful leaders of Actors Guild of Nigeria,”“The Honourable Court vehemently reiterated the position of the judicial authority that, Ibinabo, her purported exco members and the Board of Trustees vacate forthwith the office of AGN both at the National and State level and accordingly surrender all AGN assets at their unlawful possession to the incumbent Engr Emeka Ike’s Government.”
And this adds to Fiberesima’s list of travails.
Recall that earlier this month, the High Court upheld the 5-year sentence handed to the actress for the death of Dr. Giwa Suraj. Before then, Fiberesima was slammed with a N10 million fine by a Port Harcourt High Court for allegedly cheating beauty queen Munachi Chinenye Uzoma in the Miss Earth 2011/2012 pageant. Fiberesima reportedly seized the crown and other entitlements belonging to the queen after she had won the contest.
