The semifinal draw for this season’s Uefa Champions League has thrown up some interesting pairings as Premier League giants Manchester City got Real Madrid while Atletico Madrid will square off against Bayern Munich.
City, making their first ever appearance in the last four of Europe’s premiere competition will play host to Spanish giants Real, who themselves are seeking redemption after what has been a mediocre campaign to date.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men are looking to win the competition for their departing manager, who will be replaced in the summer by Bayern’s Pep Guardiola, whose side visit Barcelona slayers Atletico in a mouthwatering first leg encounter.

The Bavarians, champions in 2013, have made it five in a row in the Champions League semis, having been stopped on the last two occasions by Spanish giants Real and Barca, and are on course for a treble the Catalan’s final season at the club.
Atletico, enjoying prominence under Argentine coach Diego Simeone, have made the last four in the last three seasons and will look to make amends for their heartbreaking final defeat to city rivals Real.
The first-legs come up 26/27 April, with the return legs a week later.
The reactions to the draws have been pouring in…
