‘Expendables’ star Sylvester Stallone to play mafia role in new TV series



‘Expendables’ actor, Sylvester Stallone will play a mafia role in new TV series ‘Omerta’ – based on Mario Puzo’s novel ‘Omerta’.

The TV adaption will be directed by American film producer, Antoine Fuqua. This will be the actor’s first major scripted small screen role, according to THR.
The book – which was published in 2000, a year after the writer’s death – is the final in the author’s gang sequence, which began with ‘The Godfather’ and continued with ‘The Last Don’.
Sylvester – who won Best Supporting Actor at 2015 Golden Globe for ‘Creed’ – played the role of Barney Ross in the three ‘The Expendables’ films from 2010 to 2014.
