Publicity Stunt or Pure Error? Seyi Shay’s Latest Television Gaffe Leaves Us With Questions

This year, Seyi Shay has successfully gone from being known as a vocal powerhouse to becoming something of a joke in the music industry.
The  Irawo singer has been trending a lot lately for her unbelievable television blunders rather than her music and now she is back again with another blunder, which makes us question if all of this isn’t deliberate.
Yesterday, during her interview with Dzrpt TV, Seyi was asked about her opinion on Nigerians faking an accent when she stated that the popular slang ‘Phoneh’ (which is coined from Phonetics) is derived from Phoney. It was only a few days ago that the singer gave the full meaning of EP (Extended Play) as ‘Electric Package’ and now she says this.

Seyi Shay has been criticized by her fans, who are beginning to question her intelligence. And what does Seyi have to say about the criticism:? While some are busy making me trend for so long, we are covering papers and making headlines and making money’she wrote on Instagram yesterday.
Do you think her gaffes are a strategy to ‘make her trend for so long’ or they are genuine errors on her part?
